Boards, not meshes.

Sketchy thinks the way you do in the shop: in length, width and thickness.

Sketchy is a 3D modeller made for woodworkers. Draw every board of a project at its real size, fit them together, cut the joints, and walk into the shop with a cut list worked out against the lumber you have on hand.

Type a board's length, width and thickness — fractions welcome, in inches or centimeters. Stand it up, turn it, and slide it into place: boards snap to each other's corners and faces, and to layout lines, so parts meet exactly where you mean them to.

Features

From first sketch to the saw

Built around boards

Real dimensions, fractions and all. Boards snap to corners, faces and layout lines. Round stock is a dowel away.

Mark it out

Double-click a face to work on it square-on. Place offset lines at an exact distance, repeat them at a spacing, and label faces.

Cuts and joinery

Miters, bevels and rips at any angle. Push two boards together and Sketchy offers the joints they can take — dado, rabbet, groove, half lap, full lap.

Glue-ups

Group boards to keep a project organized, and lock a group to make one solid piece that moves and cuts as one.

A cut list that uses your stock

List the boards and sheets you have, set the kerf, mark the grain. Sketchy lays out every part and tells you plainly when you need more wood.

Additional features

A snapping tape measure, a calculator that understands fractions, a photo mode with wood grain, and a hands-on tutorial.
